Testing Out Toby Carvery’s New Yorkie Wraps

We’ve been testing out Toby Carvery’s new Menu for Winter 2017, including their brand new Yorkie Wraps.

Who doesn’t love a Yorkshire Pudding? No, seriously, is there anyone?

Toby Carvery have a brand new menu across their venues, and it includes some amazing new Yorkie Wraps – giant Yorkshire Puddings filled with your Sunday roast favourites!

I know, right! Doesn’t that sound awesome?!

So when they asked if we’d like to go and try out this new menu, I’d have been daft to say no!

We’ve not visited a Toby Carvery here in Northampton since we moved from Brum, but we’d been to loads in the West Midlands over the years. East Hunsbury is our nearest, and it genuinely looks lovely inside – really plush and well looked after.

X is a fan of Yorkshire Puddings (understatement of the CENTURY) so we decided to get him the kids Sausages and Giant Yorkshire Pud option from the Carvery itself – which was great, as he could help himself to whichever, and however many veggies he liked. Which was carrots, and only carrots. He also had lashings of their lovely Beef Gravy.

Hubs and I ordered from their starter menu, including the new Toby Tasters – Triple Smoked Bacon Belly Bites and Home Baked Garlic Bread (plus some Mini Pigs in Blankets because it would be rude not to) – they’re £2.19 each, or 3 for £5, and well worth it. Those Bacon Bites were incredibly moreish.

Then came the Yorkie Wraps – which are served room temperature rather than hot, which confused us slightly, but it makes perfect sense as it makes it more of a sandwich meal. All the meat comes from the carvery, and the Yorkshire Pudding is cooked to order. Hubs went for the Full Feast, which has Beef, Turkey, Gammon and Pork in, while I, feeling festive, went for the Roast British Turkey and Cranberry.

For £6.99 you get SO MUCH FOOD! I’ll be honest, they beat both of us – we could have split one there’s so much! As you’d expect from Toby Carvery, the meat was perfectly cooked, the roast potatoes were deliciously crispy, and the gravy was lush. My only quibble would be that I could have done with some veg to go with it – yes, I know, too much food already, but the plate was definitely missing some colour.

There’s also a whole host of amazing looking desserts, including some very tempting Freakshakes, but after the giant Yorkshires we decided that perhaps we’d save puddings for another day!

And I’m certain we’ll be making another visit again soon!
