Hello! It’s been a while.
I’m really annoyed at myself. You see, at the start of this year I really, truly, knuckled down on this blogging malarky. I managed to get my prized DA (really boring blogging stat that’s super exciting for bloggers) up to the first real milestone of 25… and then I stopped. No, a better way to describe it is that I got distracted.
You’ll have seen my posts on my sudden immersion into the world of am dram… well, since then I made this bold and totally unlike me decision to set up a website, celebrating and supporting the arts here in Northampton – called On Stage Northants. It’s going well, but it’s hard work getting the word out there – something I know all too well from blogging.
That said, the skills I’ve learned from blogging, like designing a working and functional WordPress site, domain hosting etc have been invaluable, but it’s meant all my writing and patience has been funneled into that instead of maintaining The Mum From Brum
When I look back over the last few months, I realise why I’ve not been finding the time to write on here like I used to. Parenting used to be the be all and end all of my entire life. Everything I did was related to being a stay at home mum or this blog about being a stay at home mum! But now I’m finding that a lot of my time is dedicated to theatre things! Which is great (although I do wish it paid…) but I really shouldn’t be neglecting The Mum From Brum after all the hard work I’ve put in.
Hopefully, over the next few weeks I’ll get my brain back in gear and start talking about this a bit more. I can’t be the only parent out there who works from home on something other than a mummy blog, let’s face it!
There’s so much I have to talk about. X is at nursery two days a week now, his social development has come on in leaps and bounds. I have tantrums to rant about – whoever came up with the name Terrible Twos should be reported to advertising standards, three is MUCH WORSE.
So I am making this promise to you, people out there hopefully reading my blog. I am going to be back. The Mum From Brum will no longer be a barren once loved site. It will be active and interesting again. I PROMISE.
