So I can now official say my son turns 3 next year. I’m not sure what’s worse – that, or the fact that I can say I turn *shudders* 31.
But still, 2016 is going to be a good year – I can feel it in my waters or some such similar expression.
We are potentially looking at a house move, which after only 18 months here is a bit of a pain, but it’s all for pastures new. I shall miss my beloved Birmingham, but I’m certain Northampton has a lot to offer, and their theatre (a big love of mine) is going from strength to strength at the moment at the Royal and Derngate.
I spent a good chunk of time in the later half of 2015 studying free courses online with Future Learn, and I’m looking into a number of other courses for this year – I’m particularly looking forward to their Screenwriting and Commercial Photography programmes.
And I’m certain there are lots of big milestones to enjoy with X, including Potty Training (I’m not sure enjoy is the right word here…) and him potentially starting at nursery.
Rob and I have invested some money in our new Fitbit Charge HR trackers in our attempts to get fit and lose weight. I dabbled with Slimming World last year, and lost just over a stone (with help from a stomach bug, I must admit) but I didn’t enjoy the group structure, although the weigh-ins were a big help. Hopefully, with better diet and moving a bit more, we can shift the weight we want to and get fitter. We’re even discussing going running!
The biggest thing I want from this year is more adventures; more fun trips with X, more experiences. We’ve already had one new experience, with a visit to Ash End House Children’s Farm, and I hope there are many more to come!
