Review | This Old Van by Kim Norman

I recently won a competition run on Your Baby Club Uk‘s Facebook page, and our prize was This Old Van by Kim Norman, illustrated by Carolyn Conahan!

This Old Van

This copy is a Hardback with a sleeve (which with a toddler has a very good chance of being trashed, but as a bibliophile I will desperately try to keep it in decent condition!) and is filled with beautiful illustrations – there’s so much going on on each page, I’m sure it will definitely keep my little one occupied.

This Old Van - Inside

The words fit perfectly to the song This Old Man, making it easy to sing along to, and educational as a counting song – X is getting into his numbers now, so this will be great for him!

As a rule, I wouldn’t normally buy hardback children’s books, but hopefully it will help to keep the pages in good nick, and I generally don’t buy “expensive” children’s books for the same reason – this one has a RRP of £11.99 but has the quality to make it worth it.

This Old Van

I can’t wait to sit down with little man towards Christmas and read this together – I’m certain it will become a firm favourite!

Disclaimer: We received this book as a prize on a randomly drawn competition on Facebook, as run by Your Baby Club UK. I did not receive the book on the understanding that I would review it, nor was it part of the terms of the competition, however they did ask if I could share my thoughts – which I am happy to do.
