I’ve been a bit remiss with my blog posting this week; there’s been a lot going on. We’ve had some news which means a bit of upheaval (but in a good way) and we’ve had a bonkers long weekend filled with friends and laughter, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing that I’ve not been posting – actual life got in the way!
Today we had an adventure to Sandwell Park Farm which is only 20 minutes away from us, and we didn’t even know it existed. I even grew up not far away and don’t ever recall hearing about it, let alone visiting. The park is beautiful, with a lake that is a pleasant distance to walk around. And onsite is the beautiful Victorian farm.
We visited the pigs and horses (and lots of chickens), and had a late brunch in their tea rooms – a reasonable price, and not bad food at all!
Also in the park is the ruins of a 12th Century Benedictine Priory, which we visited – it was about a 10 minute walk from the Farm car park, and Xander walked all the way, especially enjoying walking over the motorway and seeing all the cars!
Of late, we haven’t really been a family that goes out on adventures – there’s been a lot going on, and most weekends tend to get taken up by either Rob going away racing, me working or doing DIY on the house – so this weekend FULL of adventures has been wonderful. Not a wasted minute, really!
